What in your opinion is the appropriate size round pen for a 15.4 quarter horse? I'm using 45 to 48 feet now and I don't feel like we have the room we need for a trot. My daughter has a 16.1 horse has well.

Hi April,

I like a 60 foot diameter circle. I have one at 60', one at 50' and one at about 40'. Each one has advantages for various kinds of training. Of the three I have, I use the 60 footer the most and the 50 foot next. The bigger the horse, the bigger the ring needs to be. I hope this has been helpful.
